David Ko

Meet David. David is a California native from San Jose, and a junior public relations and advertising major.  He is also a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and hopes to work in the fashion industry one day.

Aside from school and his social life, you can find David behind the lens of his camera. He photographs friends and night life when he is out and about at Chapman.

Following David around was too much fun. His outfits were always unique and well put together, and he is definitely an inspiration.

David has his own fashion blog that he updates regularly. Be sure to check it out at

“My biggest dream would be a stylist for celebrities, magazines, or even a design house.” – David Ko

It’s no secret that David Ko rules the fashion scene at Chapman University. Whether he is getting sushi with friends or riding his bike to class, he never fails to bring the latest trends and styles along with him.

On Day One, David wore a cobalt blue t- shirt and turquoise shorts. In the 75 degree Southern Californian weather his color block ensamble was hard to miss. Cobalt is definitely a color to keep your eye out for this spring.

Also, David is rocking his white Converse sneakers. If you keep your eye out on campus you will be shocked by the amount of students (male and female) who have simple white converse. I just purchased a pair- I decided to upgrade from my bright pink ones- and I can’t keep them off my feet. They are very iconic.

“Using two different shades of the same color is a really fun way to dress on a sunny day. I am super obsessed with cobalt blue right now, it’s very in.”- David Ko

Day Three

Cardigan: J Crew, t- shirt: Surf Saturdays NYC, jeans: Seven for All Man Kind, booties: Clarks, sunglasses: Ray Ban, watch: Marc Jacobs

On day two the weather was a little cooler so David layered a simple cardigan over a tucked-in T-shirt. He kept his outfit “springy” by rolling his jeans to add what I like to call a little “crop culture” to his look.

Another key spring trend, crop. Crop top, cropped pants… just crop it.

Day Two

Denim shirt: H&M, graphic tank: OBEY, jean cutoffs: Urban Outfitters, boat shoes: Sperry, sunglasses: Ray Ban

This is my favorite outfit of Ko’s. Usually I am against wearing denim on denim, but only David can pull this off. This outfit is very “hipsteresque.”

Browsing through Target the other day, I noticed a ton of denim apparel. Shirts, skirts, dresses. I’m not a fan myself, but Ko can definitely rock it.

Nothing says clean cut better than a pair of Sperry shoes. It’s amazing how a simple boat shoe can express so much class and style with almost any outfit.

“I care a lot about fashion because it is a way to express myself. I consider fashion an art form as well as a way of life.”

T- Shirt: Barneys New York, jacket: Aritzia, jeans: Seven for All Man Kind, boots: Frye, sunglasses: Ray Ban

Even though this outfit is very plain and simple, it still expresses class and attitude. Sometimes when people think of fashion they think of extravagant colors and designs. But sometimes there is nothing more classy than simplicity.

It’s always nice to have versatile pieces that you can dress down or up for any occasion. The jacket David is wearing is one of those pieces. It goes with anything.

“I love versatility so whatever I find needs to be able to be used in a bunch of different ways.”- David Ko
