I have made my final predictions for the winners of the 84th annual Academy Awards. These are not necessarily the ones I think should win, but I'm trying to think like the Academy. It's unfortunate these awards are so political. That's just how it is, though.
You can look at this movie two different ways: You can see it as being a ludicrous, pointless, quixotic mess of a movie or you can attempt to disregard its idealistic approach and enjoy the movie as a farce.
Just when you thought found-footage movies lost their ingenuity, director Josh Trank and writer Max Landis give us a diverting treat. Unlike its predecessors, "Chronicle" doesn't require you bring your own barf bag. Trank managed to creatively bypass the usual shaky-cam cinematography of found-footage films.
