After awaiting the NCAA selection team’s decision on Monday morning, both Chapman’s women’s soccer and women’s volleyball teams are headed to the NCAA tournament.
Volleyball was swept on Saturday by Cal Lutheran to concede the SCIAC title, but will remain in the post-season. The team will be in Pool ‘C’ as the No. 2 SCIAC school and will travel to the host Cal Lutheran on Friday to face No. 14 Pacific Lutheran (Wash.) for the first round of the tournament. There are eight teams in this tournament.
Women’s soccer will be on a more extensive road trip this weekend when they travel to Trinity University in Texas. Trinity will host Pool ‘A’ of the NCAA tournament. Four teams will take part in this bracket of the tournament and Chapman will face the No. 2 ranked Hardin-Simmons (Texas) on Saturday. Hardin-Simmons isthe American Southwest Conference champion and boasts an undefeated commanding 17-0-1 record.
